A Hyde Park tradition since 2009, the Winter Duathlon series is an informal & fun event which combines indoor cycling and outdoor running. EVERYONE is welcome to join.
The way it works:
Riders (or teams) will set up a bike attached to a trainer. If your bike has clipless pedals, wear your cycling shoes as normal. If your bike has platform pedals, you should wear grippy running shoes. When the music starts, all riders will pedal hard (zone 3-4, if you are familiar) for an unknown number of minutes. When the music stops, riders will jump off the bikes, transition into running shoes, and head outside for a 1-2mi loop (handicapped for the faster runners), before transitioning back onto the bike.
This repeats until failure and/or an arbitrarily determined winner is crowned!
